Yanbu City on the Red Sea shore has witnessed a significant event, where His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel inaugurated the landing of the submarine 24TB cable (V Sea Me We 5) from the ship to the coast, on 31/03/2016. Inauguration has been in the presence of His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salim Al Ruwais, Yanbu City Governor Eng. Musaed bin Yahia Al-Sulayem, CEO of the Royal Commission at Yanbu Dr. Alaa bin Abdullah Nassif, Chairman of STC Board of Directors Dr. Abdullah bin Hasan Al-Abdulqader, CEO of STC Dr. Khaled Al-Bayari, and CEO of Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks Mr. Frank McCarey.
